CANDIDATES FOR COORDINATING COMMITTEE AND THEIR BIOS:
*****
As a coordinator of the Membership & Outreach Committee and a lead in the Communications Committee, I am writing to apply for a position on the Coordinating Committee. My goal is to enhance our outreach efforts to grow the Green Party of California.
In my current roles, I have developed a strong understanding of our party's structure and the importance of effective communication. I believe that direct updates and collaboration with the Coordinating Committee will improve our workflow and enable us to implement initiatives that resonate with our members and the broader community.
I am committed to fostering a transparent and collaborative environment, ensuring that all voices are heard. I aim to leverage my experience in outreach and communications to strengthen our party's presence and engagement across California.
Joining the Coordinating Committee would allow me to contribute more effectively to our shared vision. I am eager to work alongside fellow committee members to create strategic plans that align with our values and objectives.
Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to the opportunity to help advance the mission of the Green Party of California.

My name is Albert Faz, and I’m from Hesperia in San Bernardino County. I currently serve on the San Bernardino County Council and am a History major at California State University, Los Angeles. My research has been published in my university’s nationally recognized historical journal.
Since being diagnosed with Epilepsy in 2012, I’ve become a strong advocate for the rights of students and individuals with disabilities, often speaking from a hospital bed. I also work to raise awareness for Epilepsy, especially during Epilepsy Awareness Month in November, where I distribute purple ribbons as a symbol of support. I joined the Green Party in 2017 because its values align with my own beliefs.
On campus, I’ve been actively involved in cultural and social clubs and have taken on secretarial roles, working closely with executive councils. I’m known for being organized, articulate, hardworking, and dedicated. My vision for the Green Party is to continue building on the strong foundation we’ve established, striving to be a real alternative to the existing political parties in the U.S. Although this undertaking may present challenges, I am committed to helping expand the Green Party as a member of the Coordinating Committee.

I have been involved in activism for the rights of Women, Central America, against the insanity of Nuclear Destruction and Genocide, Single Payer Health Care as well as a proportional and much more.
I am now retired, having been a member of the Fresno Center for Nonviolence and editor of its monthly page in the local monthly progressive newspaper. A founding members of Peace Fresno, in response to the 9-11 disaster to speak out the truth for the powerless against those who would use that day to manipulate our world as well as a strong supporter for the homeless, Palestinian rights and condemn the Genocide practice and supported by the Democrats and Republicans who refuse to question their action to continue Genocide happening all over the world.
Finally, I ask for your support for me to continue the struggle. I am more than proud to step up and also serve the greater good of California as a member of the GPCA Coordinating Committee.
Outside of the Greens, I've volunteered with several peace groups and helped coordinate a few Berkeley Earth Day events. I was employed as Operations Director of the county food bank, and was on the Board (and served as President) of Oakland's Ohana Asian Cultural Center. I also was active with Occupy Oakland, Strike Debt Bay Area, and with KPFA radio elections.
Although I will continue to be very busy with a range of local and state Green Party work, I've made it a priority to again offer to serve on our state coordinating committee.
(2) I think the CC could benefit from holding hearings on proposals in which representatives of the bodies presenting proposals can be present to answer questions.
(3) I am currently a first-term member of the CC and the liaison to the Policy and Platform Committee. I also serve on the delegation of the National Committee. I am on the Tulare County Council and represent the county on the GPCA Standing Committee.
I am applying to fill a seat on the GPCA Coordinating Committee. I have participated on the Coordinating Committee from 2016 through June of 2021 and from July of 2023 to the present. I have also participated on the Bylaws & Rules Committee since 2016 and plan to join the Finance Committee soon. I hope to continue to be of assistance to the State Party and would be honored to do everything within my power to help strengthen and grow the Green Party in California.
I identify as female and use the pronouns she/her/hers. I have been continuously registered with the Green Party since the late 1980’s.
I live in Fairfax, California, in Marin County, where I currently serve as Co-Chair of the Marin Green Party. I recently retired from a decades-long career as a hazardous waste attorney for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in San Francisco. During my free time, I am actively engaged in my local Federal Employees Union, the American Federation of Government Employees, and am a Planning Commissioner on the Planning Commission for the Town of Fairfax. Like many communities in California right now, in Fairfax we are trying to promote more affordable housing while coping with wildfire safety and natural resource protection, among other things. Prior to becoming a Planning Commissioner in 2015, I was the Chair of the Fairfax Open Space Committee for many years.
I hope you will consider me for election to the CC. Thanks!
I have been a member of the California Green Party since 2014 and spearheaded the re-activation of the Green Party in Stanislaus County. I am the current Liaison to Registrar of Voters for the Stanislaus County Green Party. I was active in the Presidential campaigns of both the 2016 Jill Stein and 2020 Howie Hawkins.
